The Story
In 1933, Ford Motor Company revised its V-8 model known as the Model 18, or Duece. The car received a longer wheelbase and an all-new front grille. Many design traits were taken from the English Ford Model Y including the sloping front grille and hood louvers. Ultimately, it was the availability, looks and design of the Ford V-8s that would make them the preferred basis for the Hot Rod movement.
This 1933 Ford 5-Window Coupe is a stunning restored example that has been under single ownership for more than 38 years. Unlike most, this 5-window coupe has never been modified or Hot Rodded and retains its Ford steel body. A few years ago it underwent a comprehensive frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration, during which it was refinished in the very fitting color combination of Forest Green with black fenders. Since the restoration was completed, it has been sitting in a climate-controlled facility with menial use, just awaiting its next caretaker. Examples restored back to original specification and retaining their steel bodies are hard to come by, and this 1933 Ford 5-Window Coupe would be a great addition for any true collector.
