The Story

This stunning 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner benefits from a previous frame-off nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration performed by renowned Fairlane and Skyliner specialist Jerry Miller of Jerry’s Classic Cars in Springdale, Arkansas. Known in the Ford world for producing some of the finest concours-quality 1957-59 full-size restorations, Miller’s craftsmanship is on full display here. Built at the San Jose assembly plant and finished in beautiful Azure Blue with a factory two-tone blue interior and a Dark Blue Haartz power soft top, this Sunliner exemplifies late-1950s Ford styling at its most elegant and in highly optioned form.

Under the hood, this Fairlane features the desirable and rare, high-horsepower, H-code 352/300 HP Interceptor V-8, which is paired with an automatic transmission and dual exhaust—an impressive drivetrain combination introduced for 1958. The car is equally well equipped with numerous luxury and convenience features, including power steering, power brakes, power windows, a power front seat and a power-operated top. Additional factory and period accessories such as dual spotlights with mirrors, a Town and Country radio, padded dash, stainless stone guards, fender skirts and a Continental Kit elevate this Sunliner to a truly premium specification.

Visually, the car presents with exceptional presence thanks to its brilliant chrome, wide whitewall tires and Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels, capturing the glamor and optimism of 1958 American automotive design—a year when Ford incorporated more dramatic styling cues inspired by the Thunderbird, including the fashionable quad headlights. This 1958 Fairlane 500 Sunliner stands as a superb example of a comprehensively restored, highly optioned and expertly executed classic Ford convertible ready for show fields, cruising or premier collection display.
