2006 Ford GT

Ford Motor Company has always been very open and proud of its heritage. Over the years, the marque has produced some incredible cars designed specifically to pay homage to some of its amazing achievements of the past. One of the best examples would have to be the Ford GT, built to resemble and pay tribute to the incredible Ford GT40s of the 1960s that dominated every race series Ford chose to enter them in. Built for only two model years, 2005 and 2006, and receiving impressive reviews from critics, Ford was applauded for doing the name justice with a car that could not only compete with, but defeat competitors such as Ferrari—just like the original GT40 was made famous for.

This 2006 Ford GT is one of only 185 produced in Mark II Black with optional stripes for the model year, and is considered one of the most desirable color combinations. The supercar is powered by the 5.4L all-aluminum supercharged V-8 with a dry sump lubrication system, producing 550 HP and capable of hitting 0-60 MPH in 3.7 seconds. The Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission solidifies the feeling of piloting one of the greatest sports cars ever built. The interior is all leather-trimmed, with carbon fiber structure seats. The car was also optioned with the BBS lightweight forged aluminum wheels and Brembo red-painted calipers.

This well cared for and collector-owned car still looks and feels new with only 4,782 miles at the time of writing. Included in the sale are the window sticker, tire inflator kit, manuals and two keys. The Ford GTs are ever increasing in collectibility due to the extremely limited production numbers, analog driving experience and timeless appeal. This GT is a beautiful example of the pinnacle of Ford performance—to call it a thrilling ride would be an understatement.
