1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback

As per the Shelby registry, this example was shipped new to Republic Ford Inc. in Houston, Texas, and sold on September 5, 1967 to its original owner J.A. Campbell. Mr. Campbell ordered his new GT500 in Nightmist Blue paint with a black décor interior, which remains one of the most sought-after and highly coveted color combinations. It was equipped from the factory with a 4-speed manual transmission, power steering and front disc brakes, Shelby 10-spoke aluminum wheels, the Interior Décor group, a fold-down rear seat and the Extra Cooling package.

Recently, this Shelby received a comprehensive rotisserie restoration and was painted in its factory-ordered correct Nightmist Blue exterior. The black knitted Décor interior matches the rest of this car for its impressive presentation, incorporating the wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, roll bar with inertia reel harnesses, below-dash Stewart Warner oil and ammeter gauges, and 8,000 RPM tachometer that were all part of the Shelby GT treatment.

Underneath, the Shelby is finished as it left the factory with red oxide primer floor pans with body-color overspray, correct paint daubs and inspection markings. Under the hood lies the 428 CI Police Interceptor engine, which has been rebuilt to stock specifications and is in excellent working order. Finishing the look of the engine is a litany of correct markings and stickers.

This Shelby GT500 is of course listed in the Shelby Registry and comes with documentation from Marti Auto Works. The body and paint shows spectacularly well and it is ready to be shown or enjoyed as part of a collection.
