The Story
While the first-generation Ford Bronco 4x4 line of 1966 to 1977 was certainly successful, it was succeeded by a short-wheelbase variant of the F150 for 1978 and developed through three more evolutions from 1980-86, 1987-1991 and 1992-96. From 1965 through 1996, the Bronco was manufactured at Ford Motor Company’s Michigan Truck Plant in Wayne, Michigan, where the current sixth-generation Bronco is produced. Initially competing directly with the International Harvester Scout and Jeep CJ-5, and latterly the Chevrolet K5 Blazer, GMC Jimmy and Dodge Ramcharger, the Bronco was an extremely popular staple of Ford Motor Company’s model portfolio that continues to enjoy a loyal following today.
Finished in Oxford White with a gray cloth upholstery, this exemplary 1995 Ford Bronco XLT Sport is enhanced by a chin spoiler, accessory tinted bug deflector and neatly integrated running boards/step plates. A 5.8L Windsor V-8 engine provides ample power in concert with a column-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. A handsome set of 15-inch alloy wheels and BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A radial tires deliver the power.
The Bronco’s interior compartment features front bucket seats and a center console, a second-row bench seat and a voluminous rear cargo compartment including storage pockets on each side. Passenger amenities include air conditioning, a Bluetooth and MP3-capable stereo, power windows and cruise control. Body-color front and rear bumpers and a swing-out external rear spare wheel/tire mount round out this iconic modern Ford 4x4 that is gaining traction in today’s collector market.
