The Story
When the 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat was launched, the whole automotive world took notice as muscle car fans couldn’t believe the level of performance offered by the factory. The new Hellcat put the other pony car offerings from Ford and Chevrolet to shame. As the muscle car business is by nature a game of one-upmanship, it was inevitable that someone would eventually top the 662 HP Shelby GT500 and 580 HP Camaro ZL1.
The Hellcat’s biggest headlines came from the blower under the hood and roar exiting out of dual exhausts thanks to the supercharged 6.2L engine. Rated at 707 HP, this Hemi V-8 engine also delivers a huge 650 lb-ft of torque. In this instance, the powerplant is backed by the 6-speed manual transmission and the limited-slip differential designed to optimize the engine’s potential. That same potential is tamed by Brembo 4-wheel power disc brakes and the tuned Bilstein three-mode competition suspension.
This first-year 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was sold new in Middlebury, Virginia, at Fosters Motors Inc. Special ordered in the retro Sublime Green Pearl Coat with a satin black hood, this Hellcat draws inspiration from special Mopar muscle of the past. The interior is upscale as well, fitted with black Laguna leather and the UConnect AM/FM stereo with SiriusXM Satellite radio capability, Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. Topping off the package, Brembo red brake calipers are covered by 20-inch, forged, matte black, aluminum wheels and Pirelli tires. This 2015 Hellcat presents just as it left the showroom, floor even with the window sticker attached. Also accompanying the sale are both keys (red and black), a car cover, floor mats and owner’s manuals.
