The Story

The 1966 Shelbys were visually very similar to the original 1965s, but they were a little less purpose-built as a sports car. They retained their back seats, had slightly softer suspension, full undercar exhaust systems and visually now had distinguishing rear ¼ windows in place of the vents on the ‘65s and “regular” Mustang models. They did however retain the 306 HP “K” code Hi-Po engine and 4-speed transmission as well as an optional “Cruise-O-Matic” automatic transmission. The cars were also available in five colors: red, blue, green, black and white, with optional factory LeMans stripes.

This 1966 Shelby GT350 offered here was ordered for stock by West Ford in Newtonville, MA, on 12/21/1965 and was used as a dealer demonstrator. Finished in the desirable and iconic color combination of Wimbledon White with LeMans Blue stripes, under the hood is the matching-numbers K-Code 289 CI HiPo producing 306 HP and backed by a 4-speed transmission. This GT350 benefits from the addition of the rare and desirable Paxton Supercharger extracting even more horsepower from the K-Code Shelby 289 HiPo.

This GT350 comes fully documented and is listed in the Shelby American World Registry, and it is a fantastic opportunity to obtain a documented example of a true highlight of Shelby Heritage.
