1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

The 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray was the last Corvette of the second generation, and five years of refinements made it the best of the line. Several important changes marked the midyear Corvette’s evolution, but no change was greater than the introduction of the 427 CI engine. These big-block cars were the high-water mark of Corvette performance and refinement for the second-generation series of cars. The 427/400 HP L68 came standard from the factory with the Holley triple 2-barrel carburetor arrangement called Tri-Power. Only 2,101 Corvettes in 1967 received this rare engine option, which was a $305.50 cost.

Body changes were modest, with five smaller front fender vents replacing the three larger ones and the flat-finish rockers conferring a lower profile. New was a single back-up light mounted above the license plate, and the previous model’s wheel covers were exchanged for the new design. Interior alterations included revised upholstery and the hand brake moved from beneath the dash to between the seats.

This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is a rare example of the three-deuce L68 427/400 HP big-block with air conditioning and a Powerglide automatic transmission. Its equipment complements the touring character with air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, tinted glass, power windows, power steering, power brakes and Rally wheels. The side exhaust adds a nice touch of style and performance to this beautiful Corvette.

This second-generation Corvette was the recipient of a frame-off restoration to concours standards that has been documented in pictures. The car has been refinished in Goodwood Green, which is complemented by a white interior and white convertible soft top. The striking white interior features the very rare headrest option. The Corvette is powered by a matching-numbers 427/400 HP Tri-Power V-8 and Powerglide automatic transmission. With its beautiful restoration, it has gone on to win an NCRS Top Flight Award and comes with judging sheets.
