2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition

To celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2012, Chevrolet introduced the Corvette Centennial Edition, known internally as Code ZLC. Available on any Corvette, the Centennial Edition was offered only in Carbon Flash Metallic paint with Satin Black graphics, Satin Black wheels and red brake calipers. Of the Centennial Edition Corvettes produced in 2012, the most special for collectors by far is the ZR1, with only 206 ever produced.

Along with the paint scheme, the wheels are special, lightweight, cast spun alloys with a thin red outline around the perimeter, distancing them from any other Corvette wheel. A unique logo featuring Louis Chevrolet, complete with goggles and a bold “100” behind him, appears on the B-pillar hoop and on the center caps of the wheels. Another detail is the number 100 emblazoned on the crossed checkered-flag Corvette logos. The Centennial interiors are as nicely detailed as the exterior, upholstered in ebony leather with red stitching and microfiber suede inserts on the seats, steering wheel and shift knob.

This Centennial Edition ZR1 is the epitome of collector quality with 3,640 miles at the time of writing. Never tracked or driven during inclement weather, it has had only two fastidious owners from new. Stored in a climate controlled facility from new, this example looks as if it rolled off the showroom floor. Powered by the legendary supercharged 6.2L/638 HP LS9 V-8 engine and 6-speed manual transmission, the car has an exhaust note that is immediately identifiable through the quad-tip exhaust system. As per the window sticker, this example was fully optioned with the 3ZR preferred equipment group which included heated seats, navigation, a BOSE sound system, memory seats, a power telescoping wheel and more. Accompanying this special Corvette is theowner’s manuals, two keys and more. The ZR1 has long been heralded as one of the ultimate driver’s cars, and this one is no exception.
